The HOKA Bondi 9 Women’s Wide in Vanilla / Birch is built for runners and walkers who want generous cushioning, a smooth ride and additional room through the shoe.

One of HOKA’s most cushioned everyday models, the Bondi 9 has been updated with super critically foamed EVA for a soft, resilient underfoot feel. HOKA also increased the stack height by 2mm compared with the previous version, creating even more cushioning for everyday kilometres, walking and long periods on your feet.

A Smooth MetaRocker™ helps guide the foot through heel-to-toe transitions, while the rearfoot-focused Active Foot Frame™ allows the foot to sit deeper within the midsole platform for an inherently stable feel. The structured engineered mesh upper provides zonal breathability and contains 55% recycled polyester.

The women’s D wide fitting provides additional space compared with HOKA’s standard B width, making it a better option for wider feet or runners who prefer a more accommodating fit.

Cushioning and ride

The Bondi 9 uses super critically foamed EVA to provide a deeply cushioned yet resilient feel. HOKA increased the underfoot stack by 2mm from the previous generation, creating a softer and more protective everyday ride.

Its 5mm drop works with the Smooth MetaRocker™ geometry to encourage an easy rolling transition from landing through to toe-off, making it particularly well suited to relaxed daily kilometres and walking.

Stability and support

Although the Bondi 9 is a neutral shoe, HOKA describes it as having features that create inherent stability, including its wide base and Active Foot Frame™. It does not use a traditional medial post or prescriptive stability technology.

This makes it a useful option for runners and walkers who enjoy a broad, stable platform but do not necessarily want a traditional support shoe.

Fit and feel

The women’s D wide fitting provides more room than the standard women’s B width. Combined with the accommodating structured mesh upper, it may suit wider feet or runners who experience pressure through the sides of standard-width shoes.

The 3D moulded collar provides a soft, secure feel around the heel, while the extended heel pull makes the shoe easier to get on.
