Generation 9 introduces P35X™ dual-density foam, combining softer and firmer foam densities to create an energetic, cushioned feel with inherent stability underfoot.

A new Vibram® XS DURA rubber outsole adds durable road traction, while an updated heel shape, breathable mesh upper and refined tongue improve the step-in fit and comfort.

Most importantly, this is the dedicated Women's Wide version - not simply the naturally roomy standard Torin.

P35X™ dual-density cushioning

The Torin 9 introduces P35X™, Altra's dual-density midsole construction.

Rather than using one uniform foam, P35X™ combines softer cushioning with a firmer component to balance comfort with a more stable underfoot experience. 

Vibram® XS DURA outsole

The new Vibram® XS DURA rubber outsole is designed to improve durability and road traction.

Altra states that the updated outsole is 8.5% grippier than the Torin 8, giving the Torin 9 an important outsole upgrade for everyday road kilometres. 

Zero-drop platform

The Torin 9 uses a true 0mm heel-to-toe drop, with a 28mm stack height.

That means the heel and forefoot sit at the same height rather than the heel being elevated above the forefoot. 

Genuine Women's Wide fit

Altra Australia describes its dedicated women's Wide fit as providing additional room through the midfoot and forefoot and identifies the women's Wide platform as a D last. 

That's important for your fitting language: Altra FootShape does not automatically mean every Altra is a Wide shoe. This one actually is the dedicated Wide version.
